Gate Valve

Gate valves are generally used as isolation valves installed for maintenance and repair in the system. They are operated as on-off valves. Their position is maintained for a long time and can be changed during maintenance or failure to allow the desired operation. There are many types according to the place of use. They are mostly preferred in small diameters and, since they can be buried, are the most preferred products in network systems.

Gate valves, the first type of valve produced in valve history, are manufactured in two main types: metal seated and elastomer seated.

  • Metal seated products are mostly used where 100% tightness is not critical. If particles accumulate in the lower chamber, it may not close completely. However, even if high torque is applied, the disc is not damaged, which makes it preferred by maintenance and repair teams.
  • Elastomer seated gate valves provide 100% tightness and are ideal for network use. However, if high torque is applied, the gate may break, so correct operation is very important.

They are also produced as F4 and F5 types according to their face-to-face length. F5 type is wider. It is preferred because bolt and nut assembly is easier, but it is more expensive.
